The NTN regional rankings are the basis of the NTN team selection process. The top two teams in each region at the end of the season will be invited to compete in the Nike Team Nationals in Portland Dec. 4. The third and fourth place teams in each region are considered for the four national at-large selections.

Resting two key runners, Royal wins Seaside invite with 15:46 average for flat 3.05M in windy conditions. Don Lugo wins flat-and-fast Colton meet with course record 15:59 3M average. Canyon runs 2nd to Royal at Seaside. Traditional power Jesuit of the Bay Area, a distant 3rd in state Div II last year, showed a solid pack with a Rocklin Thunder invite victory, running a 16:47 5k average on a fast course with only one senior scorer. Fountain Valley takes Las Vegas invite with 5 in top 10, 34-second spread and 16:08 average for 2.5M. Ventura runs 18:20 3M average at Morro Bay invite. Miramonte wins Monte Vista meet by 44 with 53-second spread. Murrieta Valley places 5 in top 18 in 18-team Cal Poly Pomona Inv. Carillo moves up with close 2nd to Miramonte and Warren cracks top 10 with big win at Laguna Hills meet.
